History

Precision Conversions, LLC was formed in 2001 to maximize the utility, service life, revenue potential and residual value of the B757-200 as a freighter for Owners and Operators. By undertaking its own original design and engineering for the conversions, using the latest technology, Precision Conversions is able to produce a best-in-class freighter. The depth of analysis (finite element modeling, substantiation, methods and design verification test) produce a safe and reliable conversion that can be supported for the life of the aircraft.  Currently, Precision Conversions is the only company to hold FAA, CAAC and EASA certifications for the full 15 pallet position 757-200PCF with approvals for both Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney powered aircraft.

Precision’s key personnel bring decades of experience in operations, aeronautical engineering, maintenance, loads and structures.

Chairman is Jack A. Erickson, who founded Erickson Air-Crane, pioneering the use of heavy-lift helicopters in logging and fire-fighting. Economical use of the Sikorsky S-64 in private industry required the engineering, design and development of approximately 30 Supplemental Type Certificates.

President is Steven J. Thomas, who joined Erickson in 1981 and has held various management responsibilities in the companies, primarily in international operations.

Vice President of Marketing and Sales is Brian C. McCarthy, who has more than 22 years of experience in technical management, sales and marketing of commercial transport aircraft maintenance and modification, including passenger-to-freighter conversion programs.

Precision Conversions maintains its Corporate offices in the Portland suburb of Beaverton, OR with an additional marketing and sales office in Greensboro, NC.
